Copper Plating Copper is a soft metal with excellent electrical and thermal conductivity and is plated for use in industrial and decorative applications.

Because it is easy deposited, copper is often used as an undercoat for other plated metals.

It is also used to mask off areas of steel components in the case hardening process.
